Westboro Baptist Church……..Where to begin?
In case you missed the coverage over the last few years; this is the group that was made famous for protesting at funerals of military members while holding various sign saying “God hates Fags”, “Thank God for dead soldiers” and “God Hates America”. On their website they actually have a public schedule and descriptions of the circumstances surrounding the death of the soldiers and various other deceased persons they deem hellworthy.

Besides all the obvious outlandishness and disgusting inhuman views on their website www.godhatesfags.com, it’s mildly entertaining to see all the bible verses ripped out of context to suit their needs. The bible has smorgasbord of verses that, if taken literally, you can pull out of historical context and slap onto current events. This is the meat of their cause and it’s poorly done. That’s their smallest offense though. And I don’t think in 10 pages of writing, much less this one small paragraph, could I truly relay how completely idiotic and twisted this group is. Someday I hope that the poor brainwashed folks of this ‘church’ can see the light of day and witness God and the beauty of our interconnectedness. But, it’s quite difficult to have an internalized experience of any kind when you’re so concerned about others.

And we can’t post this without mentioning the “Patriot Guard Riders“. This group of bikers travels to funerals countrywide and provides personal protection for the families and funerals of fallen warriors. Keep on going guys! We’ve got huge respect for you guys! We’re veteran owned and operated also.

Patriot Guard Riders came to Reno to protect a funeral here. Maybe these guys are related to Mike Tyson, with the whole baby eating thing.

Yeah those guys are pretty awesome. I contacted them, thanked them and let them know we linked to them. I’m excited to see how they respond.

I saw these guys up close once, 5 – 10 of them tried to protest a speaker but were greeted by about 250 others that were unhappy with their presence. I think they lasted about 5 minutes.
It’s pretty obvious they just thought of the most dispictable act they could come up with to bring publicity to thier worthless cause. It’s sad when radicals give a whole group a bad name, thus hurting the very movement they claim to support. I do not agree with thier platform, however it’s people like this that some associate with “church”.

The great thing about this church is that just about all the members are related in the “great melting pot” that is southern breeding. The happiest and saddest thing about it, simultaneously.
