Richard Dawkins, the champion for Atheism and author of the book, “The God Delusion” was interviewed by Ben Stein for his movie “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed”. Ben Stein’s movie in my opinion was less in support of “Intelligent Design”, and more in support of accepting the possibility that there may be some sort of outside influence or intelligence that initiated the process of life as we know it.
The ALF proposition: For argument’s sake, if you were to keep the idea of a God, out of the argument completely, and replace him with ALF the alien; you could make the statement that ALF seeded life on the planet. And according to Richard Dawkin’s at around 3:21 in this video, my ‘ALF Proposition’ could be acceptable. I think Ben Stein brought to light an excellent point here. Dawkins and his atheist friends seem more opposed to the ‘type’ of creator\influence involved. They hate to admit that the scientific community may be a bit close minded on the issue of origins.
This was openly expressed on Scientific American’s website as well. “Thus, science welcomes the possibility of evolution resulting from forces beyond natural selection. Yet those forces must be natural; they cannot be attributed to the actions of mysterious creative intelligences whose existence, in scientific terms, is unproved.” Page 5, Scientific American: 15 Answers to Creationist Nonsense
I don’t think anything should be left out of the equation. If you can’t explain something, I think the possibility of ALF or God be kept within the realms of possibility. Otherwise, if science conducts research with a ‘No ALF’ bias and it turns out that life was seeded or created by some “mysterious creative intelligence” we’ll be late to the party. And this time we can’t blame the Catholics. I hope they’re not still sour about the sun being the center of the universe. Ben Stein pretty much Pwn’s Dawkins. 2 brown stars for Dick Dawkins!
