Ever since I can remember, I’ve always noticed something about guys and cats. Any guy over thirty that lives alone and loves cats……..is either creepy or gay. Why this is I don’t know. But, I’ve compiled a small collection of pictures and video that I think illustrate my point perfectly.
Sometimes you can judge a book by it cover. And when it comes to single dudes that own cats…….it’s a very odd book. And probably a book you wouldn’t want to leave your children alone with.
In addition to the wonderful pictures above, I found a couple of websites attempting to portray the ownership of cats as a masculine activity. Haha! And I found the keyboard cat video.

Yes. A single guy owning a cat is weird. Period. As a woman who has endured the dating world for many years, I will back this up 100%. Feline ownership by single men is a HUGE red flag for me based on my own experiences.
And a woman who owns more than 2 cats is weird…it is a slippery slope.

‘Either creepy or gay’? Maybe. And how about ‘shy loner’? Could it be that some of these guys for some reson can’t find a human friend, so they’re keeping cats as friend substitutes. Just a thought. I wouldn’t date any of them though:)
I totally agree with Heather’s comment about a woman with more than 2 cats. I keep two cats myself, and I say that’s really enough. They keep each other company and don’t get bored as a single cat might, but more than two, and you get a dirty smelly house with a weirdo owner.
I have 2 cats, 40yr old male, straight, single, and I have an 18 year old daughter. I work my ass off and it’s tough for me to take care of a dog. The cats are easy to take care of….feed them give them water, clean the catbox and I’m done. I think that I’m pretty normal with not too many hang ups, but I do like to keep to myself.
Even though the cats are a pain in the ass, I think they make great pets. My friends love them too.
How can this be possible? Single guy over 30 that owns cats and isn’t creepy and wierd?

In my opinion, there are weirdos with anything, taking a weirdo with a cat pic is just what they are. There are plenty of “normal”, non-creeps that own cats. Get off your mighty stereotypical horse and blog about something worthwhile.

Wow. I’m glad we have someone like Heather here to enlighten all of us. I guess since I own two cats, my tall, slim, HOT girlfriend should dump me immediately, since I’m either creepy or gay.
And by the way, both cats were gifts from her when I had Hodgkins Lymphoma and I was going through Chemo.

WTF is up with this blog. I am a single guy and own one cat. Due to my work schedule, being at work for up to 12-20 hours a day, and being on call at a moments notice, a dog would be unsuitable and cruel. I am straight and my girlfriend loves the cat as well. I believe that there is nothing wrong with single males owning a cat, especially for different circumstances. Ie. The guy with chemotherapy, people with hectic work schedules, and exetera.

How ignorant and stupid! Admiring God’s most perfect creature has absolutely nothing to do with age, marital status, gender, color, religion, sexual preference, etc.
I was never a cat person, but when I got divorced, I ended up with the ‘wifes’ cats. Now I am totally in awe of cats and their unique traits. I am secure in my masculinity and don’t need to drive a huge black pickup truck, own a pittbull or beat up women in order to feel macho.
I am single, over thirty, beat up pitbulls, drive women crazy, own a black 4×4 and own a cat, I am also extremely weird, but in a good way
It is a stupid stereotype that its weird for a man to love cats. I have 3. A man’s sexually IS NOT defined by what type of pet he owns. I would love dogs as much as cats but most dog’s have a problem with being litter trained compared to cats. It’s nothing wrong with a man liking cute creatures, or being in tune with felines. There are plenty of DL’s and gay men who hide behind vicious dogs..remember that.

I’m pretty sure you just made that up to make this article sound better. I’m married, over 30 and there’s nothing creepy about me, I opened the back door to a whinging cat one day, it came into my house and pissed on the kitchen floor, then started being all friendly towards me so I fed it. It ended up staying with us and it’s like coming home to a little friend when I get back from work. That cat is affectionate and loving and we’re all very attached to it.
It makes me sad when I read low brow opinions like yours. Sweeping generalizations are the bread and butter of the ignorant though, thankfully there’s not too many sheep in the thread to prop up your argument

I am a 35 year old single gay man. I do own 4 cats. My neighbors think I am weird only because I am really into dressing up my cats in “human style” clothing and posing in photos with them. I don’t think I am creepy though.

This is just a trash site created by a lonely lost teenager most likely living in his parents basement. He got this bright idea that he is going to make a quick fortune. When people generalize they are talking about the majority of whatever it is observed certain people are doing and seem repeat all over the world. In this case it is 30+ single cat owner dudes seem to be creepy. These particular dudes who are single and have numerous cats are probably using cats as companions because the cats are not complex like humans and the cats won’t “hurt” them as humans have done in their lives.
This is a joke website but is also a true statement.
No that doesn’t mean YOU who is on here defending all cat owning dudes, that means the majority. So I say you CAN generalize, some say it’s unfair too. Just think of generalizing as saying the majority. I’ll bet if there were a scientific study on this, the statistics would indicate this to be true.
There’s a study about cat owners vs dog owners and it says that cat owners have a higher IQ than dog owners…. This is really a generalization too but you don’t see cat owners fighting this one. They probably do have higher IQs because they don’t get along well with people and are socially awkward therefore giving them more time to study. They probably studied a lot in school as a kid and didn’t spend their youth making relationships with people because either they loved to study or sucked at socializing.
