So let me get this right? Hygiene rules are relative to religion?
(See link to A.P. news article here or read short article excerpt below the picture)
If an enterprise or country has certain rules for hygiene set up; it is what it is. Even if the hygiene rules are lame, they are in place and not respecting any specific religion. I got kicked out of pool at a beach club 2 months ago for swimming in jeans. If I was smart, I would have claimed that they were my Christian swimming pants.
A Muslim business owner is more than welcome to make a burka laden private swimming pool business if he or she wants. No one forced this woman to live in a country not predominantly populated by Muslims. And in the case of conversion, rules don’t suddenly change because you converted. You change. Many Muslims moved to European or American countries because their Islamic countries’ living standards flat out sucked in the first place. I can assure you that the standards of living in England or France are multiple times higher than Peshawar, Kabul, or Cairo.
I lived in Kuwait in an apartment downtown in 2003, I was right next to a mosque. The call for prayer went 5 times a day over a megaphone. “allhaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh akbar alllahhhhhhhh akbar” and Repeat,Repeat right into my window. Did I complain because the “call for prayer” woke me up while I was sleeping for the graveyard shift? No. Did I complain because I couldn’t buy food products deem unIslamic or Halal? No. Did I complain because Ruby Tuesday’s would not put liquor in their margaritas? Yes, just a little.
It’s simple lady……….stop whining or move to a place that has rules that mesh with your belief system. When the population of burqini swimmers reaches high enough to affect democratic decision, then change the rule. If nudist’s became a huge majority in any country nude friendly rules would become common place. I hate to break to you, but the French don’t blare Islamic prayer 5 times a day through out the streets around the Eiffel Tower either. And unlike Islam, there are no French laws that ascribe a proper time to beat the wife.(see bottom of post for wife beating facts)

French pool bars Muslim woman for ‘burquini’ suit
PARIS – A Muslim woman garbed in a head-to-toe swimsuit — dubbed a “burquini” — may have opened a new chapter in France’s tussle between religious practices and its stern secular code.
Officials insisted Wednesday they banned the woman’s use of the Islam-friendly suit at a local pool because of France’s pool hygiene standards — not out of hostility to overtly Muslim garb.
Under the policy, swimmers are not allowed in pools with baggy clothing, including surfer-style shorts. Only figure-hugging suits are permitted.
Nonetheless the woman, a 35-year-old convert to Islam identified only as Carole, complained of religious discrimination after trying to go swimming in a “burquini,” a full-body swimsuit, in the town of Emerainville, southeast of Paris.
She was quoted as telling the daily Le Parisien newspaper that she had bought the burquini after deciding “it would allow me the pleasure of bathing without showing too much of myself, as Islam recommends.”
“For me this is nothing but segregation,” she said.

Question and Answer from Islam-QA.com
If my wife keeps insulting me and won’t stop, can’t I beat her?
Yes, but follow these wife beating guidelines. Hitting her should be the last resort. And maybe use a small stick.
“You should follow with her the method that Allaah has mentioned in His Book, of admonishing, forsaking in bed and hitting in a way that does not cause injury. If none of that is successful, then you should seek help in advising her from a righteous person in her family, so as to preserve the family and take care of the rights of the children, if there are any.”
“‘Ata’ said: I said to Ibn ‘Abbaas, what is the kind of hitting that is not harsh? He said, Hitting with a siwaak and the like. [A siwaak is a small stick or twig used for cleaning the teeth - Translator]The purpose behind this is not to hurt or humiliate the woman, rather it is intended to make her realize that she has transgressed against her husband’s rights, and that her husband has the right to set her straight and discipline her. And Allaah knows best.”

Yes, please don’t let me transgress on your rights.
Great post!
Props to H.D. for giving me the idea for this post. Thanks!
The hygiene thing is so true!! I get called ‘cochina,’ or dirty, for NOT showering in the morning (and for not showering 2+ times per day, as a matter of fact) in Costa Rica.
Plus they brush their teeth like 50 times per day!! Way more than in the US. I have picked up this habit, though.
Balibollocks.com just posted something about Indonesia’s backward laws.

Muslim women are banned from wearing bikini’s, kissing in public and wearing tight clothes. But European and American tourists are authorized. What?
